Hidden away in the hills of Carmarthenshire lies a garden waiting to be explored. This September, as part of the National Garden Scheme, we’re opening our gates and inviting you to discover what makes the Skanda Vale Hospice garden so special.

- When: Saturday, 12th September 2026, 11am to 4:30pm
- Where: Skanda Vale Hospice, Saron, Llandysul, Carmarthenshire, SA44 5DY
- Entry: £3.50 for adults, free for children
- No booking needed: Just turn up on the day!
- Accessibility: Most garden areas are accessible with firm, level paths
- Accommodation: Available at nearby Skanda Hafan Guesthouse if you’d like to extend your visit to our beautiful corner of Wales

About the garden
A pebble-lined water rill sets the tone for this beautiful small garden as it meanders through patches of shade and sunlight, connecting a circular pool to a tranquil Sacred Space beneath a magnificent Beech tree. Built in 2016, the garden creates spaces for meditation, tranquillity, and togetherness.
Thoughtfully designed lawns and glades invite gatherings, games, or quiet contemplation, while linking distinctive garden features—a winding willow spiral, a wildlife pond, colourful borders, sculptures, and stained glass elements. The planting has been carefully considered, with soothing blue and gold schemes near the entrance to inspire calm and confidence, transitioning to uplifting reds, oranges, and whites around the hospice building.
Now lovingly maintained by dedicated volunteers, the garden offers something to discover in every season, making it worth returning to throughout the year.
